Make Sure You Are Born Again

And Going to Heaven

Bible Verse Video Test

Being born again is to a spiritual transformation that leads to:
Forgiveness of sins, Reconciliation with God, and The promise of eternal life.
In the Bible, being born again is a spiritual rebirth that involves a change of heart and a new relationship with God. A person that is born again believes and obeys the word of God. The Bible becomes precious.
Being born again is a core doctrine of the Christian faith.

What does it mean to be born again?
It's a change from indifference or hostility toward God (Romans 8:7) to love for Him and His word. (John 14:23-24)
It's a regeneration of the human spirit from self focused to God focused. God gives us a new heart and a new spirit. (Ezekiel 36:26)
It's a new beginning in the relationship with God. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
It's a change from being spiritually dead to spiritually alive. (Ephesians 2:5-6)
It's a transformation in the way one thinks and acts in the world due to believing and obeying the word of God. (Romans 12:2)

"So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now!
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" --- 2 Corinthians 5:16-17 NLT

How does it happen?
It happens when one surrenders their life to Christ.
It happens when one repents of their sins and asks forgiveness. Anyone who repents of their sins and turns to Christ for salvation can be born again.

If there is no outward change in a person's behavior after one surrenders their life to Christ then there is no rebirth.

Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."
--- John 3:3

That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
--- John 3:6

And Peter said to them, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
--- Acts 2:38

He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, --- Titus 3:5

"No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God." --- 1 John 3:9

However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.
10 If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
--- Romans 8:9-11

The Bible says:

"Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!"
-- 2 Corinthians 13:5

The Apostle John tells us in the Bible how to test and see if we have saving faith.

This short video test uses 1John 1:1-10 to help you determine if you have saving faith and are born again:

Bible verses used in the video to test ourselves:

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
--- 1 John 1:7

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
--- 1 John 1:8

And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments.
--- 1 John 2:3

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
--- 1 John 2:15

1 John 2:15

No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also.
--- 1 John 2:23

Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.
--- 1 John 3:2

No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God.
--- 1 John 3:9

By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.
--- 1 John 3:10

We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death. Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
--- 1 John 3:14-15

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
--- 1 John 4:15

"Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son."
--- 1 John 5:10

Want to know if someone else is "born again?"
If someone says they are born again yet is "offended" by hearing the gospel
or is "offended" at the suggestion that they are not saved, then they are probably not really saved.
The gospel is "a rock of offense" to those who are perishing. (1 Peter 2:8)

Moreover: If there is no outward change in a person's behavior after one surrenders their life to Christ then there is no rebirth.

Another sign to test if someone is born again:
When difficulties come, someone who is born again will draw closer to God.
Someone who is NOT born again will shake their fist at God and will blame God.

Marks of the True Christian:
"Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.
Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.

Romans 12:14
Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight.
Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.
If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord."
To the contrary, "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head."
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."
--- Romans 12:9-21

Matthew 7:23 is the most terrifying verse in the Bible:

"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?'
And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'"
Matthew 7:21-23

For the Lord to know you, you must build your house on a rock:
"Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.
And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it."
Matthew 7:24-27
