God's Plan to Judge and Show the Worthlessness of Idols and gods of the End Times

Repeating the Exodus

The Exodus story is not only about rescuing the Israelites from Egypt but also about God showing the world that He is greater than other gods.

The God of the Bible judges the idols and gods:
For I [the LORD] will pass through the land of Egypt ... against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments [exhibiting their worthlessness]. I am the LORD. -- Exodus 12:12 amplified

This is confirmed in the Bible book of Numbers:
"while the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn, whom the Lord had struck down among them. On their gods also the Lord executed judgments." --- Numbers 33:4

Zephaniah confirms an end-time judgment:
"The LORD will terrify them as he destroys all the gods in the land. Then nations around the world will worship the LORD, each in their own land." --- Zephaniah 2:11 NLT

Isaiah also confirms that a day of reckoning is coming for idolatry in the end times:
Their land is filled with idols; they bow down to the work of their hands, to what their own fingers have made.
And the haughtiness of man shall be humbled, and the lofty pride of men shall be brought low, and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day. And the idols shall utterly pass away.
Isaiah 2:8, Isaiah 2:17-18

God judged the gods
and idols of Egypt and He
will do it again in the last days.
This is a core end time understanding.

In the last days, the Lord God is going to demonstrate His authority over the gods that many worship today, just like He did in the Exodus story.

God will rebuke and reprove today's gods and idols. He will admonish and punish them and all those who worship them.

The Lord will cause the "gods" that we trust more than Him to fail in power and influence in the end times.

God will judge the world's gods, and that "judgment must begin at the house of God." (1 Peter 4:17)

"I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me."
--- Exodus 20:2-3

Most people in the world today do not worship the God of the Bible.
Many people worship their appearance, their approval, their success, their possessions, their comfort.
Some worship sports, pleasure, social media, the environment, their relationships, and even food.
Most put their trust and faith in their bank accounts, their abilities (self-reliance), their achievements, in government, science, and medicine.

Most people depend on these man-made idols rather than depending on God.

Ultimately, the foundation of all idol worship is "self."
And self-worship is all about exalting ourselves. The Bible entreats us to flee from idolatry, and to do this we must die to self and live for Christ.
(1 Corinthians 10:14, Romans 6:11, Galatians 5:24, Romans 8:13)

Pray that the Lord will crucify all of "self" and remove all self-centeredness, self-confidence, self-indulgence, self-assurance, self-indulgence, self-satisfaction, self-vindication, self-reliance, self-ego, self-pity, self-focus, self-promotion, self-righteousness, self-sufficiency, and any self-seeking or self-serving attitudes.

The most worshiped and trusted idols in the end times are
money, possessions, pleasure, and self.

The Bible says:
"But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money,... lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God," --- 2 Timothy 3:1-4

2 Timothy 3:1-4

And since we know that judgment begins in the house of God, it is no surprise that true believers that come out of Mystery Babylon [the world ruler before Anti-Christ] (Revelation 18:4) will be incredibly poor. (Revelation 2:9)

By the second year of the tribulation (second seal), having had the god of money and "worldly things" removed from them, end-time believers will return to their "first love" (Revelation 2:4) and thereby purify the end-time church.

And by the third year (third seal) even the wicked will experience poverty because of hyperinflation when a loaf of bread will cost a days wages:
"And I heard a voice from among the four living beings say, 'A loaf of wheat bread or three loaves of barley will cost a day’s pay. And don’t waste the olive oil and wine.'" --- Revelation 6:6 NLT

The gods of money, possessions, self-reliance, and more will be removed from the world and shown to be worthless.
"For My people have forgotten Me, They burn incense to worthless gods..." --- Jeremiah 18:15 NASB

The removal of these idols will cause most in the world to seek and depend on the Antichrist and take the mark of the beast, resulting in eternal damnation.

But some will seek and depend on the God of the Bible even at the cost of their lives, resulting in eternal salvation.

Zechariah comfirms the removal of idols in the end times:
And on that day, declares the Lord of hosts, I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, so that they shall be remembered no more. --- Zechariah 13:2

And Micah foreshadows the same end time scenario:
All her idols shall be broken in pieces, All her earnings [from her idolatry] shall be burned with fire, And all her images I shall make desolate; For from the earnings of a prostitute she collected them, And to the earnings of a prostitute they shall return. (Amplified) --- Micah 1:7 NASB

And there are judgments against those who worship other gods:
And I will declare my judgments against them, for all their evil in forsaking me. They have made offerings to other gods and worshiped the works of their own hands.
--- Jeremiah 1:16

Provison in the last days:

As the end-times unfold, and Mystery Babylon takes power, most of the world will look to the government to provide food and other needs. That will fail.

And after Mystery Babylon, which rules briefly, (".. he must remain only a little while."-- Revelation 17:10) is destroyed, the Antichrist system will use the mark-of-the-beast to regulate and control food and possessions.

Most in the world will trust the Anti-christ to provide food, water, and other needs. Ultimately, that will also fail.

But for all who place their trust in God, the Lord will provide food and water during the tribulation:

"Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all."
--- Matthew 6:31-32

"And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."
--- Philippians 4:19

The Lord promises to provide "hidden manna" for all the overcomers who do not submit to the world system:
"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it."
--- Revelation 2:17 NASB

As we abide in Christ and overcome the world system, the Lord will supply all our needs to face the goliath circumstances of the end times. He will supply all our physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

Trust the Lord Jesus Christ!

And because end-time "gods" are corrupt and oppose the truth, "their folly will be plain to all" just like Jannes and Jambres in the Exodus story. (2 Timothy 3:8-9)
God will show the wicked that their gods and idols have no power, just like He did in the Exodus account.

Another end-time idol is science including medical science.

The world believes in evolution because they trust science rather than God. Science has become a god to most of the world.

In the end times, science including medical science will fail.
And it will become evident to the world that they cannot trust science.

There are many, many things people trust over God.
And in the end times, they will all fail.
