Be an Overcomer in the End Times

Enduring to the End

"And they overcame him (Satan) because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death."
--- Revelation 12:11 NASB

But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
--- 1 Timothy 6:11-12

The central theme of the end times is overcoming evil and bringing it to an end. God has patiently waited two thousand years to allow all that would be saved to be saved. He has allowed time for all to repent. (2 Peter 3:9)

How to Be an Overcomer in the Last Days

Be watchful, alert, test all spirits.
(1 Corinthians 16:13-14, 1 John 4:1)

Be strong and courageous.
(Deuteronomy 31:6, Ephesians 6:10)

Be steadfast (abiding, adamant, faithful, inflexible, resolute, single-mined, unwavering, unyielding). Be faithful, believe God.
Who is it that is victorious over [that conquers] the world but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on that fact]?
--- 1 John 5:5 amp

Obey God and do His will.
(Acts 5:29, Luke 11:28, 1 John 5:3, Luke 6:47-49)

Maintain your testimony, let your light shine:
(Matthew 5:16, John 1:5, Revelation 12:11)

Hate Evil and Cling to Good:
[Let your] love be sincere (a real thing); hate what is evil [loathe all ungodliness, turn in horror from wickedness], but hold fast to that which is good.
--- Romans 12:9 amp
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
--- Romans 12:21
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
--- Galatians 6:9

Stay rooted in the word of God.
(Colossians 2:6-7, Psalm 1:1-3)

Love your enemies.
"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,"
--- Matthew 5:43-44
Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.
--- 1 Peter 3:9

Oppose & expose the deeds of darkness:
(Ephesians 5:11)

Make the most of the opportunities.
(Ephesians 5:15-16)

Be Spirit-led, walk in the Spirit:
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
-- Romans 8:14
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
-- Galatians 5:16

Do not cling to the world:
(2 Peter 2:20)

Put on the Full Armour of God:
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil." -- Ephesians 6:10-11

Abide in the LORD.

Understand that Jesus has already overcome the world

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.] --- John 16:33 amp

Jesus Christ overcame Satan through His death, burial, and resurrection, purchasing freedom for all who would repent and place their faith in Him.

God calls us to be overcomers and remain steadfast through the coming trials and tribulations of the end times. He wants us to "overcome evil with good." (Romans 12:21)

Romans 12:21

In the book of Revelation, God gives many promises to those who overcome and endure unto the end:

"To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life which is in the Paradise of God." --- Revelation 2:7 NASB

"He who overcomes will not be hurt by the second death." --- Revelation 2:11 NASB

"To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it." --- Revelation 2:17 NASB

"He who overcomes, and he who keeps My deeds until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations;" --- Revelation 2:26 NASB

"He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels." --- Revelation 3:5 NASB

"He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will not go out from it anymore; and I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God, and My new name." --- Revelation 3:12 NASB

"He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne." --- Revelation 3:21 NASB

"He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son." --- Revelation 21:7 NASB

Revelation 21:7
Jesus encourages and comforts us concerning end times by reminding us of His finished work on the cross.
Jesus says, "These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world." --- John 16:33 NASB

And though Jesus overcame Satan at the cross, He allows us to participate in overcoming Satan in the end times by our testimony. "And they overcame him (Satan) because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death." --- Revelation 12:11 NASB

And the Apostle John explains how we, as God's children, are able to overcome Satan:
"You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world." --- 1 John 4:4 NASB

"For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith." --- 1 John 5:4 NASB

"Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?" --- 1 John 5:5 NASB

Matthew 24:13

We need to hold fast to our faith in Christ until the end. We need to stand firm and resist the deception of the Antichrist.
Pray for Discernment!
Pray for Endurance!
Pray to be an Overcomer!

Set your face like flint! (Isaiah 50:7)
