God's Provision in the Last Days

God Provided a Savior

God Will Provide Hidden Manna

"And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."
--- Philippians 4:19

"Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' ... But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
--- Matthew 6:31-33

The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due season. You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of every living thing.
--- Psalm 145:15-16

"he young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing."
--- Psalm 34:10

"Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, "whose hope is in the Lord his God,... who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry."
--- Psalm 146:5-7

The Bible says that God is our provider.
One of God's names is Jehovah-Jireh, which means "the Lord who provides".
God's provision is proof of His faithfulness and grace.

God will always provide for our needs, and this is especially true in the last days because as we trust Him, He always works for our good and His glory. -- Always!

"If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!"
--- Matthew 7:11

And God's greatest example of providing for us can be found in the story of Abraham's obedience to God when told to sacrifice his son Isaac.
"So Abraham called the name of that place, "The Lord will provide"; as it is said to this day, On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided."
--- Genesis 22:14

Abraham proves that he so loved God that he was willing to give up his own son. This act of faith foreshadows an event 2,000 years later when God willingly sacrifices his only son, Jesus, for atonement of sin for all who believe.

God Provided Manna: The Exodus and the Last Days
"When the people of Israel saw it, they said to one another, "What is it?" For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, "It is the bread that the Lord has given you to eat. This is what the Lord has commanded: 'Gather of it, each one of you, as much as he can eat. You shall each take an omer, according to the number of the persons that each of you has in his tent.'"
--- Exodus 16:15-16

Daily Dependence: The Israelites were instructed to gather manna daily, signifying a dependence on God for daily needs. This principle applies to spiritual sustenance as well, urging believers to depend on God's daily provision of grace and guidance. This principle will be especially applicable in the last days, as complete dependence on God will be even more essential.

Spiritual Food:
The manna is not only physical food but it also symbolizes spiritual food, representing God's Word and Christ, who is the true bread of life. This signifies the importance of seeking spiritual nourishment through His Word and the Holy Spirit in the last days.

Trust, Obedience, and Dependence:
The manna story teaches the importance of trusting God's provision and being obedient to His commands. This resonates with the concept of relying on God's guidance and obeying His will in the last days. The Israelites' initial question, "What is it?", reflects their uncertainty and lack of trust in God's provision. Moses' answer, "This is the bread that the Lord has given you to eat," emphasizes that God is the source of their sustenance and that they should trust in him.

Enduring Faith:
The Israelites' journey through the wilderness, relying on God's provision, foreshadows the challenges and temptations believers face in the last days. It emphasizes the importance of enduring faith and relying on God's strength to overcome these challenges.
Exodus 16:15 exemplifies God's faithfulness and his commitment to providing for his people in the midst of adversity. It teaches us that even when we don't understand God's plan, we can trust that he is working for our good and providing for our needs.

The story of manna in Exodus 16 serves as a powerful foreshadowing of God's physical and spiritual provision in the last days.

It reminds believers to trust in God's ability to provide for all their needs, to seek nourishment through His Word and Christ, and to remain steadfast in their faith amidst trials, temptations, and uncertainties of the end times.

And we know from scripture that the Lord has already promised us hidden manna in the last days.
"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, with a new name written on the stone that no one knows except the one who receives it."
--- Revelation 2:17
