Satan Cast Out of Heaven in the End Times

"Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down..."-- Revelation 12:7-9

"And he said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.;"
--- Luke 10:18

Chiastic structure of the book of Revelation shows Satan falling from heaven as the central event.
(Chiastic structures in the bible, called introverted parallelism, are verses, chapters, or books which are then repeated – but in reverse order)

Revelation Chiastic

The casting out of Satan during last days is more significant than most think. It will be a turning point in the end times. It will be a major event.
Satan is a spiritual being but this casting out of heaven will be physical in nature.
Satan will be physically cast to the earth. What form he will have on earth is not revealed in the Bible but I suspect it will be physical just like the fallen angels in the days of Noah.

Long ago, before the Garden of Eden, Satan sinned against God, leaving his proper abode and losing his domain in heaven.
Satan’s initial fall from heaven when he sinned (before the Garden of Eden) is often cited by theologians to be written about in Isaiah.
"How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!" --- Isaiah 14:12

But I believe Isaiah is also referring to the future casting out in the end times. I believe Isaiah may be referring to both, past and future events. A fall from his domain in the past and a physical fall or casting down in the future. I believe this is a double fulfillment of scripture.

We know from Job 2:1, Job 1:6-7. that even after the Garden of Eden, Satan still had access to heaven. This is confirmed by Ephesians 6:12 in which Paul says we are fighting "against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." Notice that the apostle Paul says "in heavenly places." So, we know even after the cross, that Satan had access to heaven.

So, the "casting out of heaven" is also a future, end time event as stated in Revelation:
Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. --- Revelation 12:7-9

Moreover, Jesus also references the casting out of Satan when He said:
"And he said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven."
--- Luke 10:18

I believe Jesus was also looking into the future, to the last days, when He said this.

This end time casting out of Satan from heaven happens at the mid-point of the 70th week of Daniel, commonly called the tribulation. It is a central point to the book of Revelation.

We know from Revelation this takes place about the time of the Abomination of Desolation found in Matthew 24:15. Once Satan is cast out, he begins persecuting the Jewish people. Satan hates God's chosen people. And this is the beginning of what Jesus calls "Great Tribulation." (Matthew 24:21)

Satan Counterfeits:

Satan cannot create but rather he counterfeits what God has done. Satan has been a counterfeiter from the beginning.

For we know that Satan comes as an angel of light.

This end time casting out of Satan to the earth begins a new counterfeiting plan.

Once on earth, Satan will indwell the Antichrist, making the Antichrist a counterfeit messiah. The Bible says that the Antichrist will come "with all power, signs, and lying wonders" (2 Thessalonians 2:9).

These deceptive miracles will lead many people away from the truth of God. In fact, the deception will be so complete that the Bible warns us that it would deceive even believers if that were possible. (Matthew 24:24)

The Antichrist will have false prophets and false apostles. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, fashioning themselves into apostles of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13).

Another counterfeit is the "unholy trinity," described vividly in Revelation 12 and 13. The Holy Trinity consists of God the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Their counterparts in the unholy trinity are Satan, the Antichrist, and the False Prophet.
The Apostle Paul warned about false teachers and false spirits already are in the world deceiving people. The Apostle John gave the same warning. He said that we should not believe every spirit because many false prophets were already out in the world. (1 John 4:3)

Another counterfeit: Revelation 13:3 seems to indicate that the Antichrist will be mortally wounded, but Satan will miraculously heal his wound (Revelation 13:3; 17:8–14) and thus counterfeits Jesus's resurrection

After this wondrous event, the world will be totally enthralled by the Antichrist. The Antichrist world system will take over the "mystery Babylon" world system, which everyone hates. Having saved the world from the Mystery Babylon world system, every non-Christian will see the Antichrist as a "savior." Most will worship Satan and the Antichrist. (Revelation 13:4–5)

Another counterfeit will be the mark of the beast. Satan will have a mark of ownership placed upon his followers. "And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the bond, that there be given them a mark on their right hand, or upon their forehead" -- Revelation 13:16

This is a direct counterfeit to God's seal in Revelation 7:3

Lastly, a counterfeit Christianity will be evident in the world. This has already happened.

Satan on the earth will be a terrible time for Jews and Christians. For after God prevents Satan's armies from catching the fleeing Jews, Satan begins persecuting Christians.
"So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus." --- Revelation 12:17

According to the Bible, it will be the worst time in history (Matthew 24:21).

So how can Christians prepare for this event?

We need to abide in Christ. We have to be continually connected to Jesus by walking in the spirit. (John 15:4–10)

We need to pray and keep alert, watching world events unfold that we might be ready. (Luke 21:36, Luke 12:35)

We need to look for opportunities to help any Jews when they are being sought by the Antichrist.
"Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due when it is in your power to do it." --- Proverbs 3:27

We need to keep the faith, and encourage the saints, knowing that the LORD will sustain us.

We need perseverance and endurance for the troubled times ahead and to overcome the Antichrist. (Revelation 12:11)
