How to Wait in End Times

God "acts in behalf of the
one who waits for Him."
-- Isaiah 64:4b
Waiting upon God
"Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand." --James 5:7-8 ESV

Waiting is going to play an important part in end times.

All through the Bible, God entreats us to wait upon Him.

During the end times, we need to wait with anticipation of our coming Lord and not become weary. (Hebrews 12:3 NASB)

Many, however, will become disillusioned and tired of waiting for the return of Jesus (the rapture) and will fall away from the faith in the end-time rebellion, called the apostasy.
(read: 1 Timothy 4:1, 2 Thessalonians 2:3)

We must not give up but trust God ...
and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come.
--- 1 Thessalonians 1:10

Waiting upon the Lord will be one of many events to test our faith in the Lord during the end times. Do not think it is strange.
Waiting takes great faith.

Waiting upon the Lord strengthens:
our faith,
our endurance,
and our perseverance.

Waiting on God clarifies our true motivations and refocuses our perspective.

Psalm 27:14

Most often, the wait is for God to position us physically, emotionally, and sometimes spiritually to hear from Him.
And that takes time.

HOW SHOULD WE WAIT:
1. Quietly Lamentations 3:25-26
2. Patiently Psalms 37:7
3. with Hope Psalms 130:5
4. Courageously Psalms 27:14
5. Expectantly Micah 7:7 NASB
6. Continually Hosea 12:6
7. with Faith Galatians 5:5

Hindrances of Waiting on God:

1. Worldly pressures
2. Fear (afraid of losing an opportunity)
3. Wrong focus (Focusing on your circumstances rather than God)
4. Wavering Faith (Believing one day and not the next)

James 1:12

And how should we as followers of Christ be waiting during the end times? How should we be living?
Titus 2 tells us:

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
Titus 2:11-14
